2013 Top 5 Individual Categories Review in Division II-AA Football

Corn Elder (2012) was gone and so was 2800 yards rushing from the Ensworth Tiger attack. Peyton Klawinski (116 tackles in 2012) graduated from MUS, and he left a big hole in the MUS Owl defense. Yet, DII-AA 2013 was filled with outstanding players and staggering numbers of the league’s best.

Connor Harris (CBHS) was the league’s top rusher, and Baylor’s George Porter and Ensworth’s D’Andre Ferby both topped 1300 yards. And the league’s fifth best rusher was MBA’s ninth grader Ty Chandler–a glider across the turf with speed and power.

Tyler Swafford (Brentwood Academy) was up to the task to replace Max Staver (Univ. of Florida signee) at quarterback, and Swafford got better every week. Swafford averaged over 205 yards passing per game.

Other big numbers were running back Colton Neel’s (MUS) 158 points, punter Gary Wunderlich’s (MUS) 44.6 yards per punt, and probably the most staggering number was the 184 (yes, 184) tackles made by Baylor’s tenth grade linebacker Ryan Parker.

Congratulations to all the categorial leaders!
